Google Earth now tracks UN statistics

Google Earth now comes replete with UN statistics. Take a peek at a country and find how many people live on less than $1 per day, literacy rates and other statistics tied to the UN's Millennium Development Goals.

I’ve been told that Google and Cisco Systems, creators of the new site, are also working on a different module for rich countries that will let users know how many televisions per house, cars per family and incidence of methamphetamine use.

For now, we have to stick with statistics about poor countries. Here is the site: http://www.mdgmonitor.org/
